Contact Distance Pistol

CDP is an intensive four-hour training designed to prepare shooters for the realities of handgun self-defense at distances under seven yards. Decades of FBI and NYPD data confirm that most shootings involve 3–5 rounds, at 3–5 feet, within 3–5 seconds. Unfortunately, many firearms trainers ignore these critical statistics.

At this close range, your firearm is only part of the fight—open-hand skills are essential for defending against sudden attacks and creating the time and distance needed to access, deploy, and use your handgun effectively. As a result, approximately 90% of this course focuses on one-handed shooting.
