Review of Streamlight Wedge XT: Slim, Powerful, Reliable

The Streamlight Wedge XT is a rechargeable tactical flashlight designed with everyday carry in mind. Unlike traditional round flashlights that can be awkward in pockets, the Wedge XT’s slim, flat profile resembles an OTF (Out-The-Front) automatic knife, making it both comfortable and practical to carry.

It charges fully in six hours via the included USB Type-C cable, utilizing a waterproof charging port. A built-in LED indicator glows red while charging and turns green when fully powered.

The Wedge XT offers two modes:

  • HIGH: 500 lumens | 1,900 candela | 87m beam distance | 2-hour runtime
  • LOW: 50 lumens | 200 candela | 28m beam distance | 11-hour runtime

Specifications:

  • Length: 4.25 in (10.8 cm)
  • Weight: 2.62 oz (74.3 g)
  • Pocket Clip: Sturdy design for secure carry and easy attachment of the included lanyard (or your own).

After carrying the Wedge XT for several months, it has become my go-to EDC flashlight, and it would take something truly exceptional to replace it. With over 4,000 five-star reviews on Amazon and a retail price of around $80 USD, it’s clear that many others share my appreciation for this compact powerhouse.
